The growing community of Muslims in South Korea

The Seoul Central Mosque gathers around 800 worshippers for weekly Friday’s prayer.
Around 100,000 Muslims are living in South Korea from countries including Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Turkey. South Korean Muslims make up a minority of 0.2 percent, in a predominant Christian and Confucian society. In 2001 only about 34,000 Muslims were living in Korea,which has now increased to more than 150,000 today.
