In Asia Cup Cricket, defending champions India defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in their first Super-Four match at Dubai last night.
Opting to bowl, the Men in Blue first bundled out Bangladesh for 173 in 49.1 overs, with spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who replaced injured Hardik Pandya, bagging the maximum of 4 wickets. Pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah took 3 each.
Later, Team India overhauled the target with more than 13 overs to spare and 7 wickets in hand, courtesy captain Rohit Sharma’s superb knock of 83 not out.
Shikhar Dhawan and MS Dhoni also made valuable contributions in the run chase. Jadeja was adjudged man of the match.
In their second Super-Four match, India will play Pakistan tomorrow.
Pakistan, last night, beat Afghanistan by 3 wickets in their opening Super-Four game at Abu Dhabi.
