30 Years of ‘Strings’ the band

Strings is one of the most eminent names in the Pakistan music industry. Not only has the band gained popularity nationwide, but has managed to earn a huge name for themselves, internationally. Their journey started in 1988, when Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood collaborated to play music along with two other band members. However, soon after, the other two members withdrew their names from the band.

The band launched their first album in 1990, called “Strings”, which earned the band tremendous recognition. The first album was followed by the second album which was released in 1992. In addition, Strings became the first Pakistani band, to ever sign a film across the border. The band took a break when they realized that the need of the hour was for the band to focus on their education.

After a while, Strings made a huge comeback in the year 2000, with one of their most well-received songs, “Durr”. In 2004, the band set their fourth album in motion named, “Dhaani. ” Their fifth album was called, ” Koi Anay Wala Hai”, which like their previous albums,  also managed to captivate the audience. Their passion is truly reflected in the work they have done in Bollywood films i.e:  ” Shootout at Lokhandwala”, “Zinda” and “John Day”.  In 2015, Strings produced the soundtrack of a Pakistani award-winning feature film,” Moor”. Furthermore in 2014 , “Coke Studio” reached new heights when Strings took over the show from Season 7 on wards. The band resigned from Coke Studio after Season 10, but promises to return with more exemplary music.
