Political war in Rawalpindi

News by:

As general elections are coming, A neck to neck competition is expected between Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Hanif Abbasi in NA-60 Rawalpindi.
However if Abbasi is convicted in the ephedrine case before the elections given that Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench has directed Control of Narcotics Substances (CNS) court to conclude the case by July 21 then it would be a shoo in for Sheikh Rashid, an anecdotal survey carried out by Business Recorder revealed.
Abbasi faces charges of misusing 500kg of the controlled chemical ephedrine which he obtained for his company, Gray Pharmaceutical, in 2010 during Pakistan Peoples Party’s government.
