I haven’t presented resignation to PM: Zulfi Bukhari

News by:
Special advisor to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfi Bukhari denied sending resignation to Prime Minister Imran Khan. Zulfi Bukhari denied it while he was presented before the NAB where he is being questioned regarding his offshore companies. DG NAB directed a three member team to probe the offshore companies of Zulfi Bukhari. After the hearing, a journalist asked him about resignation to which Zulfi said no such news holds any truth. He said the other two ministers who resigned, one had a reference against him whereas the other minister had a JIT against him. He said his case is more about his dual nationality and court is yet to decide the matter.

NAB initiated investigations against Zulfi when the Panama Papers showed six offshore companies of Zulfi Bukhari. So far Zulfi has defended his offshore companies and stated that it is only normal for a businessman like himself to own offshore companies in different countries.

Do keep in mind that two days ago, the special prosecutor Imran Shafique appointed by NAB to investigate Zulfi’s case also tendered resignation. His reason for resignation stated that he wants to join Islamabad Bar Association to be professional independent lawyer. In addition, Bukhari’s name is also on the Exit Control List because of the investigations against him.
