A man who abandoned his daughter 16 years ago has been ordered by the Supreme Court to pay for her expenses.
The court was hearing a case filed by a woman to remove her father’s name from her national identity card. The father Shahid Ayub, who resides in Peshawar, appeared before the court on Thursday.
The woman, Tatheer Fatima, and her mother, Fehmida Butt, located Ayub with the help of the NADRa chairperson. Fatima had said that she has not been able to get any of her legal documents as her father was missing.Ayub last met his daughter in 2002. “You haven’t seen your daughter in 16 years,” remarked Chief Justice Saqib Nisar.
