CJP: Provision of basic rights to transgender community our first priority.

Transgender rights case was in hearing today at the supreme court where Chief Justice of Pakistan seemed to be angry on the demeaning attitude of our society towards transgenders.

According to Dunya News, Chief Justice said that it’ll be our first priority to ensure the provision of basic rights to the transgender community. He also announced to give jobs to two transgenders in the Supreme Court as well.

Chairman Nadra was also present there and in answer to the question of identity cards, he said that cards are being issued along with the ‘Sahulat Program’. Chief justice also commented on the website that contains derogatory content against transgenders. He said that the owner of the website shall be sent a notice soon.
