On Monday, PM Imran Khan arrived at Miran Shah to reveal a package for North Waziristan. He was attended by (COAS) Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other army officials. Khan made his first trip to the North Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa since becoming PM.
PM Imran and the COAS are being informed about the safety conditions and additional interrelated issues on their official visit.
DG ISPR tweeted from his official twitter account, “Prime Minister and COAS arrived at Miran Shah, North Waziristan. Being briefed on security situation, ongoing stability operations, socio-eco projects & rehab of TDPs. PM will later visit Ghulam Khan Terminal/ border fencing and address jirga of local elders at Miran Shah.”
Prime minister, Imran Khan is in Waziristan to allocate some funds to increase the rate of development and standard of living the people living in Waziristan. It has been neglected in the governments prior to Khan’s and he is determined to change this. He intends to construct universities, health clinics and sports centers in the area in order to improve the quality of living of these people.
The regions previously agencies in the erstwhile Fata were formed after the last president Mamnoon Hussain approved the 25th Constitutional Amendment Bill into law initially this year.
In addition, while addressing the people of Waziristan, Imran paid his respects to the people of former tribal districts as he acknowledged their struggles in fighting terrorism. He addressed the accomplishments of Pakistan army and the rest of the forces and intelligence for being victorious in fighting terrorists.
“We are for peace beyond borders, including in Afghanistan,” the chief stated. “We shall play our role in the Afghan peace process along with other stakeholders as peace in Afghanistan is critical for achieving enduring peace in Pakistan.”
