• The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) parliamentary committee officially nominated party chairman Imran Khan for the office of prime minister on Monday.
In his speech, the PTI chief recalled the party’s history, his own struggles and achievements, including the 1992 World Cup victory, and laid out future plans.
Imran also urged party leaders to “save the money of the nation so it can spent on public welfare.” He vowed, “I will take decisions based on merit and for the betterment of the people.”
• Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday said opposition parties have allied against them owing to fear of the party.
• “The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) have come together owing to a fear of PTI,” he said while addressing the media after the party’s parliamentary committee meeting at a private hotel in Islamabad.
“Party chairman Imran Khan believes the opposition is very weak,” the PTI leader added.
Qureshi claimed that the PTI has emerged as the largest party of Pakistan.
