Finally the restriction on constructing high rising buildings in Karachi has been removed. The decision was upheld since 2017.  The sanctions were put by the apex court in 2017 when they witnessed the worsening situation of sanitation conditions in Karachi along with non-availability of water. After these conditions, the construction of high rising buildings was banned across Sindh. So far, buildings including the ground floor and two storeys were bein built in Karachi. However the decision was challenged by (ABAD).

The chairman of ABAD said that they faced numerous difficulties in the last two years because construction work of 500 projects was stuck due to approval issues. Investment worth Rs. 500 billion was stuck. The material for another 500 construction projects was also ready. The chairman thanked the Supreme Court for finally retracting the order.
