On Wednesday, in a press conference after the midterm elections, President Trump and CNN’s reporter, Jim Acosta got in an intense dispute for inquiring him about the refugee caravan. He said this to the reporter, “Honestly, I think you should let me run the country. You run CNN, and if you did it well, your ratings would be much better,”
Acosta tried to ask another question as a White House assistant strained to take away the microphone from him to give it to some other reporter. He asked, “If I may ask on the Russian investigation are you concerned that you may have indictments?”
In response to which Trump replied, “I’m not concerned about anything with the Russia investigation because it’s a hoax.” He further stated, “That’s enough, put down the mic,” he instructed Acosta. Trump got so upset that he even criticized the channel “CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN,” the president told Acosta.
“You’re a very rude person. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee Sanders is horrible. And the way you treat other people are horrible. You shouldn’t treat people that way,” Trump further said.
“Just sit down please,” Trump told the CNN repoter. “When you report fake news, which CNN does a lot, you are the enemy of the people.”
Later on in the forum, Trump constantly called out journalists for being “hostile” and “rude.”
