DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor in a press conference said that media is a key opinion maker and must show positive developments of Pakistan for at least 6 months.
On Thursday, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor held a press conference to increase communal mindfulness regarding the positive initiatives being taken by Pakistan. While talking to the media, DG ISPR suggested that media was the fourth pillar for the country and had a major to play in presenting a positive image of Pakistan.
He acknowledged the power that media holds in today’s world and requested it to show the positive picture along with the negative.
“You [journalists] are the opinion makers. Show all the good things in our country…Create public awareness. Show them what has improved in Pakistan. This doesn’t mean don’t show the bad. The power which the media has, no other state institution at this time has that sort of power because there is fifth generation warfare and hybrid war. Your target through perceptions and narrative is to reach the youth,” he said.
“For six months, show Pakistan’s potential and progress within and outside and see where the country reaches,” he added the Maj-Gen Ghafoor, calling on everyone to play their role for a more prosperous Pakistan.
