Federal Minister Azam Swati resigns

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Azam Sawati has resigned from his post. The resignation has been sent to Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Azam Sawati was involved in the IG Islamabad Transfer case where a JIT was formed to investigate the matter. JIT presented its report in the supreme court in which Azam Sawati had been deemed culprit for using his power and influence in a wrong and illegal way.

In the JIT report, Azam Sawati has been found guilty in the conflict. It was also stated in the report that Police did not conduct the investigations properly, that too from the beginning. The JIT report also said that Police favoured the federal minister in the matter.

The JIT report also mentioned some other details of the incident. It said that Azam Sawati misused his powers and influence. It also said that the victim’s family was forced into settlement by the local jirga. It also said that one of the servants offered money to the family to clear the matters.

JIT report also said that Federal Minister Azam Sawati’s wife went to the family’s women and offered them clothes. A similar effort was made by offering the admission of his son to a good school as well. The family however did not accept any such offer and are waiting justice which was promised when Supreme Court of Pakistan took notice of the matter.

Azam Sawati used his powers and influence to vacate his neighbouring property. The police also favoured the Federal Minister. Supreme Court charged Azam Sawati under article 62 one F.

After all this, Azam Sawati has resigned today.
