Saudi Arabia has always played a major role in the macro politics of Pakistan. Unarguably, Pakistan has always looked forward to maintaining friendly relations with Saudi Arabia. On the account of economic development being made the newly formed government, PTI has tried to tie friendly knots with Saudi Arabia. Imran Khan, prime minister of Pakistan recently visited the king of Saudi Arabia, and fortunately, the meeting has turned out to be excessively productive in regards to an economic relationship with both nations.

The former government of PMLN initiated the project of CPEC which is now further being carried by the current government. On a recent visit of Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi government has agreed to further extend their economic support for Pakistan. The government of Saudi Arabia has shown confidence towards becoming a third member of CPEC. PTI had requested Saudi Arabia to join hands for establishing economic welfare for both nations.

According to the latest updates, Saudi Arabia has agreed to invest in CPEC and become a third member of this humongous project. It has been clearly mentioned by Information Minister, Fawad Chaudhry, “Saudi Arabia has agreed to invest  $10bn in CPEC and this would mark as an important step for Pakistan’s economic welfare” It goes without saying that Pakistan has witnessed economic deficit from a long period of time, and now when Saudi Arabia is joining their hands that reflects as a clear sign of hope for Pakistan.

It was important for Pakistan to join hands with Saudi Arabia, and it is important for Pakistan to exchange trade with them. Just on another note, the foreign policy of Pakistan is going in favors of the nation and a lot of people believe that the newly formed government is engaging themselves in a process that would help Pakistan to retain and maintain friendly relations with their neighboring countries.
