IMF mission arrives in Islamabad

           A delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) arrived in Pakistan on Thursday to hold talks pertaining to the country’s economic crises with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Headed by Harold Finger, the mission is expected to stay in Pakistan for a week.

         Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed three agreements of grants. Briefing the media about the decisions of federal cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan here Thursday, Fawaz Chaudhry said, “Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have inked three agreements for grant. The first delegation of Saudi Arabia comprising chief of its investment and petroleum ministers will be arriving Pakistan on Sunday.”

The minister added that the government is set to launch major operation against 100 big defaulters.

           Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday apologised to members of the opposition after they staged a brief walkout from a National Assembly session in protest over his “derogatory remarks”.
