Asad Umar to chair ECC meeting today

Federal Finance Minister, Asad Umar will be heading the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) gathering in Islamabad today (Wednesday).

The ECC would also observe the sanction of one month income for the employees of Pakistan Steel Mills, doubling the quantum of Saarc Food Bank Reserve and problems arising out of construction of LNG terminals and reasoning of the price of cement.

The assembly will discuss huge tax avoidance by sugar industry, incentive bundle for oil and gas examination and problems encountered by Pakistan State Oil.

The ECC would also examine alterations to Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Policy 2012 to produce a new sector for high risk frontier regions with improved revenues, offering prospects of higher hydrocarbon finds and production.
