While talking to the press on Monday, Opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan Muslim League-N took the initiative to establish military courts; however they no longer support the extension of military courts. He further exclaimed that military court shave been able to fight terrorism through operation such as Zarb-e-Azab. Moreover, PML-N frontrunner Miftah Ismael stated that his party would be willing to support the government in extension of tenure of military courts only if the presiding government pleases them in parliament on the issue. On the other hand, his party associate Musaddaq Malik rejects reports that efforts are being made to organize a meeting between the former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
