SC rejects NAB appeal to suspend Nawaz and Maryam Sharif in Avenfield case.
The Supreme Court rejected the National Accountability Bureau’s appeal to grant bail to Nawz and Maryam Sharif regarding the Avenfield case.
A five-member bench comprising Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and comprising Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel heard the proceedings.
According to the SC, the grounds of rejection for the appeal were that the anti-graft body has not succeeded in providing ample evidence for bail cancellation. Justice Asif Saeed Khosa said that the accused are already behind bars then why is NAB seeking suspension of their sentences?
