Prime Minister, Imran Khan has directed a nationwide campaign against illegal occupations on government property. In the first step, Capital Development Authority (CDA) is running an anti-encroachments drive in Islamabad where many illegal occupations on Kashmir highway have been bulldozed. As of yet, the demolished buildings included major wedding halls, hotels and a McDonalds, all constructed illegally, violating the rules of CDA. Owners of the said places also complained that CDA caused them millions of rupees without any prior notice. However, the authorities deny any such accusations and claim that several notices were sent to the owners. The operation is headed by Khushaal Khan (Member of State-CDA), with whom, the Islamabad deputy commissioner, senior superintendent of police, police and Rangers are also a part of the operation. CDA stated that the operation will continue until the complete elimination of  encroachments. A similar campaign has started in Punjab province as well.  The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has prepared a list of  properties where the operation will take place. Chief Minister, Usman Buzdar has said that the campaign will begin from affluent and influential people and no political pressure will be considered during the campaign.
